Tony McCoy took his Lesters haul to 23 when he added three more accolades to record tally as Britain's leading flat and jump jockeys were honoured at a unique ceremony in Birmingham on Monday night.
For the first time, two years of the Stobart Lesters were awarded on the same evening and the star of the show was McCoy.The 19-times champion jumps jockey was crowned Stobart Jump Jockey of the Year for both 2013 and 2014 and also collected ARC Jump Jockey Special Recognition (2013) after he went past 4,000 career winners during that year.
Among the winners was Ryan Moore, who, with 14 victories at the top level across seven countries on four continents this year, capped a sensational 2014 by winning both the Stobart Flat Jockey of the Year and SIS Flat Jockey Special Recognition awards.
Lucy Alexander was the Great British Racing Lady Jockey of the Year for both 2013 and 2014 and she also won the Lester for Racing Excellence Conditional Jockey of the Year (2013).
The contribution to racing during his career of Joe Tizzard, who announced his retirement from the saddle earlier this year, was recognised with the award of ARC Jump Jockey Special Recognition for 2014.
