That's because the Brahma Bull was in action in Phoenix, Arizona when he took on CM Punk for sports entertainment's most sought-after prize: the WWE Championship.

The Rock fought Punk at the US Airways Center on Sunday, January 27, after the Second City Saint defeated Ryback in a TLC match to retain his prestigious strap on the first Monday Night Raw of 2013.

To see if the Great One, who conquered John Cena at WrestleMania XXVIII in April in his previous WWE match, could end Punk's lengthy reign with the gold and scoop his 10th world title, make sure you order the repeat showing on Sky Box Office.

The Rock's appearance was just part of the drama, though, as 30 of WWE's premier grapplers entered the Royal Rumble match itself, hoping to be the last man standing and earn a guaranteed World Heavyweight or WWE Title opportunity at WrestleMania XXVIIII on April 7 at MetLife Stadium, New York.

Cena, the Royal Rumble victor in 2008, was placed in the multi-man match, as was 2012 winner Sheamus; 2009 champion Randy Orton; Dolph Ziggler; United States Champion Antonio Cesaro; Intercontinental titlist Wade Barrett; Ryback; Kofi Kingston, Brodus Clay and many more.

Elsewhere, Alberto Del Rio had to defend his recently acquired World Heavyweight Championship against the man he plucked it from, Big Show in a Last Man Standing Match; and WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No put their gold on the line against Team Rhodes Scholars.
