Roman Reigns received a terrible beating at the hands of The Authority as a steel cage played a leading role on Raw this week.

Having earlier hosted Bray Wyatt’s win over Chris Jericho, the cage made an unexpected comeback for the evening’s main-event – to Reigns’ detriment.

A competitive bout with Randy Orton was ruined by the interfering Seth Rollins and Kane who assaulted Reigns. Although that gave him a disqualification win, it was scant consolation.

The cage was lowered to the ring at the behest of The Authority simply to inflict more pain on Reigns, who was left in a beaten heap at the conclusion of Raw.

Earlier, Wyatt defeated Jericho in a cage match with his family watching from ringside. They prevented Jericho escaping the steel confines and afterwards a brawl erupted near the door. Wyatt was able to creep out and win the match. He then returned to the cage, locked himself in with Jericho and handed out a spiteful bruising.

John Cena wasn’t in action but stormed to the ring to confront Paul Heyman, who was taking another opportunity to brag about his client Brock Lesnar.

Cena insisted that despite losing the WWE Heavyweight Championship to Lesnar, their rivalry was in its infancy and vowed to take his belt back.

Jerry, Jerry, Jerry!

Who better to sort out The Bella Twins’ family feud than Jerry Springer? The legendary television show host was in the ring to stage an intervention for the feuding sisters – but ended up in the middle as the Twins fought. Jerry’s night as a wrestling star ended on a stretcher.

Seth Rollins earned an upset win over Sheamus, largely thanks to Cesaro’s help from ringside.

Divas Champion Paige and AJ Lee did not put their rivalry aside, but managed to team up to defeat Natalya and Rosa Mendes, while Goldust and Stardust beat Los Matadores before being attacked by The Usos.

NXT Champion Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn beat Tyler Breeze and Tyson Kidd, and Adam Rose was inadvertently aided by a giant pink bunny to beat Titus O'Neil. If that wasn’t a strange enough evening for Rose, the bunny beat him up afterwards…
