WWE Smackdown: Dean Ambrose's Money in the Bank hopes crushed by Seth Rollins

But Shield comrade Roman Reigns shows how devastating he can be...

That Seth Rollins is quite a nuisance, isn't he?

Less than two weeks after turning his back on The Shield - clattering his former friends with a steel chair, no less - the high-flyer caused one of the remaining Hounds of Justice more heartache on Smackdown.

Dean Ambrose tackled Bray Wyatt in a Money in the Bank qualifier on Friday night and looked primed to win it - until Rollins, who was branded a "self-centred scumbag traitor" by Dolph Ziggler on Main Event, shattered his dreams.

Live on Sky Sports Box Office

The Lunatic Fringe smashed Wyatt's head to the mat with Dirty Deeds as he attempted to join the already-qualified Sheamus, Cesaro and Alberto Del Rio, as well as automatic entrant Randy Orton, in June's high-stakes ladder match.

But Ambrose's gaze was then diverted by a suited-and-booted Rollins - that's mixing with The Authority for you - standing on the announce desk, and that momentary slip allowed Wyatt to administer Sister Abigail, win the dust-up and give Money in the Bank an eerier complexion.

Roman Reigns, meanwhile, was banned from watching his comrade's tussle with the Eater of Worlds at ringside, but did showcase his strength during and after his bout with Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett.

Reigns levelled Barrett with myriad powerful manoeuvres, including the Superman punch and running dropkick, but was unable to seize victory before 3MB - perhaps appearing in WWE for the final time - intervened.

The rockers' ambush caused Reigns-Barrett to be called to a halt by the referee, and the former NFL player responded by tossing Jinder Mahal over the commentary booth and flooring Drew McIntyre and Heath Slater with crunching Spears.

Reigns and Ambrose had let loose on the microphone at the start of Smackdown - as you will see in the video to the right - but there was plenty more grappling action on the blue brand with Erick Rowan, Cesaro and Bo Dallas amongst the winners.

Rowan gained a modicum of revenge for his mate Luke Harper's defeat at the hands of Jimmy Uso on Main Event by pulverising the other WWE Tag Team Champion, Jey Uso, with a sideslam.

Plus, Cesaro tamed Sheamus with a roll-up pin - the very same move he had been downed by when he clashed with the Irishman at Payback - while Bo Dallas hit R-Truth with the Running Bo-Dog to maintain the zero in his loss column.

Elsewhere, Big E conquered Jack Swagger after the Real American was distracted by resident USA-basher Lana; Alicia Fox obliterated onetime friend Aksana; and Adam Rose edged a sparkling bout with Fandango, before Summer Rae and Layla contested another catfight.
