On Monday Night Raw, two WWE title bouts in one night led to John Cena being crowned the new WWE Champion.

It was the beginning of a new era on Raw, the Triple H era. Fans around the world eagerly tuned in as The Game, who is now WWE's Chief Operating Officer, vowed to change WWE for the better.

On The Game's first night, fans witnessed the return of WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross, an athletic Superstar by the name of John Morrison and, not one, but two WWE Champions!

Last week, after eight Superstars were whittled down to two during a WWE Championship Tournament, only Rey Mysterio and The Miz remained. And on the latest edition of Raw, the pair clashed in the night's opening contest that eventually saw The Master of the 619 capture his first ever WWE Championship.

After relieving Mr. McMahon of his duties last week, Triple H took to the ring to address the current state of WWE and also announce several major developments.

The first blockbuster announcement came in the form of an unprecedented second WWE Title Match later in the evening between recently crowned WWE Champion Rey Mysterio and John Cena.

Bombshell

The second bombshell of the night saw WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross returning to the Raw announce desk. When The Game revealed the decision, current announcer Michael Cole verbally protested. As a result, Triple H arranged a match for him later in the evening against internet sensation Zack Ryder.

While wrapping up his address, The Cerebral Assassin was interrupted by a clearly not stable R-Truth. After enduring Truth's latest outburst about conspiracy theories, Triple H introduced the man Truth had put out of action: John Morrison.

The recuperated Shaman of Sexy charged into the ring and unleashed his frustrations on Truth, leaving him out for the count in the middle of the ring.

And so to the main event which turned out to be one of the most thrilling matches in the history of Monday Night Raw. In an unprecedented second WWE Championship Match, newly-crowned WWE Champion Rey Mysterio was forced to defend his title against John Cena.

As the two Superstars clashed, it was the leader of the Cenation who would eventually overpower Rey's high-flying assault and capture his ninth WWE Championship. In the midst of celebration, however, one competitor emerged to dispute the legitimacy of Cena's WWE Title reign - CM Punk!

Punk shocked the WWE faithful when, after having departed the company two weeks earlier, surfaced inside the Hampton Coliseum to the sound of Living Colour's "Cult of Personality" carrying his WWE Title. As fans gazed in awe at the confrontation between the two, doubts began to arise as to who the rightful WWE Champion actually was.

Coming Up

This Friday Night, for the first time since taking control of WWE, Chief Operating Officer Triple H returns to SmackDown! What will The Game have in-store for Friday Night SmackDown when the Cerebral Assassin comes to town? Find out this Friday Night from 10pm on Sky Sports HD2.

Next week on Raw, we move one step closer to the biggest event of the Summer - WWE Summerslam. Will the "Cult of Personality" CM Punk show up next week to question John Cena's new title reign?

Also, Divas from both Raw and SmackDown will compete in a Diva Battle Royal to determine who will face Kelly Kelly at SummerSlam. Don't miss all the build-up to WWE's SummerSlam event when Raw comes to you live next Monday Night at 2am on Sky Sports HD3.
