Jade Galbraith: Held his nerve in penalty shots
Braehead Clan dented Scottish rivals Fife Flyers' play-off ambitions with a 2-1 shoot-out win on Tuesday night.
With the Elite League meeting all square at 1-1 after overtime, it was left to Jade Galbraith to step up and score the decider in the tie-breaker.
The first period ended goalless after Braehead squandered a great chance to go in front with a 5-on-3 powerplay in the 16th minute.
The Flyers were quickly out the traps in the second period as Denis Kadic put them in front at 21.21.
In a game that had been tight throughout the first two sessions, it remained the same in the third and at 47.33, on a shorthanded play, Jordan Krestanovich made it even tighter as he netted the equalising goal.
With no further scoring the game went into overtime, however that failed to produce a winner and the game was decided with a penalty shootout with Galbraith the hero for the visitors.
He netted the first and then watched the next four skaters all miss. Tim Maxwell kept things alive for Fife when he scored with his effort, to send it into sudden death.
Galbraith then found the net for a second time and Danny Stewart missed with his shot to give the Clan the extra point.
