The Miami Heat bounced back from a slow start to beat the New Orleans Hornets 109-95 on Monday.

LeBron James and Dwayne Wade weighed in with 22 points apiece after the Florida outfit had trailed by 12 in the second session.

James also set up eight and grabbed 11 rebounds to seal the win.

The Washington Wizards went down 98-88 at home to the Chicago Bulls.

Derrick Rose produced his best figures of the season with 35 points while Carlos Boozer supported with 18 for the Eastern Conference leaders.

The San Antonio Spurs condemned the Memphis Grizzlies to a fourth successive defeat after recording an 83-73 win in Tennessee. Matt Bonner topped for the Spurs with 15, backed by Tim Duncan's 14.

Easy night

Michael Beasley scored 34 in the Minnesota Timberwolves' 120-108 win away to the Houston Rockets.

The Philadelphia 76ers made it three wins in a row with a 74-69 victory at home to the Orlando Magic while the Milwaukee Bucks had an easy night on home court as they overcame the Detroit Pistons 103-82.

The Dallas Mavericks were 122-99 victors away to the Suns in Phoenix, Delonte West leading with 25 off the bench as Marcin Gortat (17 points) led the way for the off-colour hosts.

LaMarcus Aldridge's 25-point haul was not enough to stop the Portland Trail Blazers losing 93-89 to the Utah Jazz.

The Los Angeles Clippers enjoyed a straightforward 112-100 win at home to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
