SOPHIE HANKIN Q&A

When did you start playing Netball?

SOPHIE: "I started playing in Year 4 (aged 9) for Brookshaw NC, East Essex where my sisters played."

What are your ambitions in Netball?

SOPHIE: "I want to carry on representing my country at the highest level and to take advantage of as many opportunities for touring the world as I can playing the sport that I love. I want to continue to play for Hertfordshire Mavericks for many years to come."

Who has been your toughest opponent this season?

SOPHIE: "As I have recently returned from injury I feel that I have coped with the defensive pressure so far. For the remainder of ZNSL I look forward to testing other defensive strategies."

Who is your Netball hero?

SOPHIE: "Jo Harten – I have watched Jo since my older sister Chantelle played with her at England U19 and Mavericks Youth and since then she has inspired me to reach the level of netball that she has achieved."

What's your highlight of the season so far...

SOPHIE:: "Receiving ZEO Player of the Match for my returning ½ match v Team Northumbria was overwhelming. It was such a good feeling to be back playing with my favourite team Hertfordshire Mavericks.

Don't forget you can watch Sophie in action live on Sky Sports as we bring you one game from each round of the ZEO Netball Superleague. Her side, Herts Mavericks, will be live on Sky Sports 3 HD against Surrey Storm at 7.30pm on Monay 7 April.
