Saori Yoshida took up the sport of wrestling at just three-years-old. Her father, Eikatsu Yoshida, is a former national wrestling champion.
The Japanese freestyle wrestler is arguably the most dominant athlete in her sport and she will be targeting her third straight Olympic gold medal in London.
She is a double Olympic gold medallist in the lightweight category, having claimed the top prize at the 2004 and 2008 Games.
She also secured her ninth successive world title in 2011.
Amazingly, since 2001, she has only lost once and is unbeaten at the Olympics, World and Asian Championships.
The 29-year-old is most definitely one to watch in London where she will be putting her expertise and experience to the test once more.
