Chinese lifter Liao Hui is the reigning Olympic and world champion at 69kg and will be among the favourites for gold in London.
He success at the 2010 World Championships in Turkey saw the 23-year-old break the world records for the clean and jerk as well as the total - with Hui lifting a combined total of 358kg.
The 69kg category has been dominated by Liao ever since 2008, when he won the Olympic gold medal and followed up by winning the World Championship in Goyang in 2009 and a year later in Antalya.
Breaking two junior world records at the 2007 Chinese City Games propelled Liao into the big leagues of weightlifting and into contention for Beijing.
His performances in 2007 even prevented experienced gold medallist Zhang Guozheng from competing in Beijing, but despite being just 20 Liao handled the pressure well to bring home the title.
Going from strength to strength, with world titles and world records, Liao could be a dominant force for some time to come and a huge fancy for London gold.
