Following a £70m refurbishment Hampden Park is now rated as a five-star venue by Uefa, European football's governing body.
Built in 1903, Scotland's national football stadium is also used for music concerts and other sporting events.
Over the years it has staged three Champions League finals, two Cup Winners Cup finals and a Uefa cup final.
During the Games Hampden will host a total of eight men's and women's football matches.
It will be one of six 2012 Olympic football venues, the others being Wembley, the Millennium Stadium, Old Trafford, St James' Park and Coventry's Ricoh Arena.
