Having become the ITU World Triathlon Champion in 2008, Helen Jenkins is currently ranked number one going into the grand final of the 2011 World Championship series this September.
The 27-year-old has been in great form in recent months and is looking like a promising podium prospect for 2012.
Jenkins competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, finishing in 21st place. However, she won the 2010 London Triathlon, which helped her reach her fourth place world ranking for last year.
Her recent performances on the world stage have been very encouraging with less than a year to go until the greatest sporting event lands on home territory.
In August 2011, she was part of the team that took the Team Triathlon World Championship title in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The squad was made up of the two impressive Brownlee brothers, Alistair currently leading the world rankings and Jonathon the new sprint world champion, alongside Jodie Stimpson and Jenkins.
British triathlon has never looked so good in the year preceeding the 2012 Games. The triathlon will take place in Hyde Park next summer and Jenkins looks as though she still has a lot to offer in the sport.
