Zara Phillips: The 2006 world champion has made a solid start to the season.

Zara Phillips continued her solid start to the eventing season in the Land Rover Gatcombe Horse Trials over the weekend.

The 2006 world champion is rated as an outsider to make Great Britain's Olympic eventing team for London this summer.

However, she opened her campaign in confident fashion, winning at Tweseldown in Hampshire earlier this month on Silver Lining V, before finishing fourth on the same horse in Gatcombe's feature class, the advanced intermediate.

Phillips also took 11th place with her Badminton horse this year and main Olympics hope High Kingdom, as well as finishing 12th on Lord Lauries.

Australian Christopher Burton dominated the advanced intermediate section, securing first place on Haruzac and second with Holstein Park Leilani, while Louise Harwood was third aboard Whiston.

The open intermediate classes were won by Wills Goodhew and Michael Owen, with the novice section victors being Kitty King, Rosie Thomas and Italian rider Giovanni Ugolotti.
