Fred Evans
Fred Evans was identified as one of Britain's most talented youngsters from an early age after first visiting a boxing gym as a four-year-old.
The welterweight attended the Beijing Olympics as a 17-year-old under the BOA's Olympic Ambition Scheme, and has already repaid their faith.
Alongside team-mate and friend Andrew Selby, Evans last year became one of the first Welshman for 86 years to win gold at the European Championships in Ankara when he outpointed Mahamed Nurudzinau of Belarus, 15-9, in the final.
In October of the same year, he qualified for the Olympic Games by reaching the last eight at the World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Evans suffered the disappointment of losing his first round match at the Commonwealth Games but vowed to come back stronger than ever from that defeat.
