The Netherlands celebrate victory
The Netherlands won Olympic gold in the women's hockey with a 2-0 triumph over hosts China in the final.
Naomi van As and Maartje Goderie scored in the second half to seal their countries' first Olympic title since 1984.
Chinese goalkeeper Zhang Yimeng kept her side in it during the first half with three good saves from Maartje Paumen's penalty corner hits.
The deadlock was broken in the 50th minute by Van As, who deflected in a rebound from another penalty corner.
And Goderie sealed the victory in the 63th minute with a reverse hit from the top of the circle.
Earlier on Friday, Argentina saw off Germany by a 3-1 margin in the bronze-medal match.
Goals from Roasrio Luchetti and Carla Rebecchi put the South Americans 2-0 ahead before Anke Kuehn pulled one back for Germany early in the second half.
The result was made safe for Argentina - who were cheered on from the stands by football legend Diego Maradona - when Noel Barrionuevo slammed in a penalty corner seven minutes from time.
