Hampton Court Palace is one of London's Royal Palaces and will be yet another major historical location to play host to the Olympic Games in 2012.

Sport: Road Cycling

Capacity: N/A

Location: Richmond upon Thames

The venue will host the start and finish of the cycling time trial event, providing a remarkable setting for the world's best cyclists.

Hampton Court Palace has housed some of Great Britain's famous kings and queens, most notably the infamous Henry VIII, but it also has a major sporting history too.

The palace is home to the oldest surviving real tennis court in England, one of fewer than fifty real tennis courts in the world, while there is also an 18-hole golf course in the palace grounds.

A 44km route for men and a 29km distance for women will start and finish in the Palace, after riding around Richmond, Kingston upon Thames and Elmbridge.

Both the events will be free events for fans to come and watch at Hampton Court Palace, which will continue to be a major tourists attraction and home to exhibitions after the Olympics.
