Matthew Kisorio: The runner has gone on to claim doping is widespread within Kenyan athletics
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) are looking into allegations of doping within the Kenyan athletics team.
The agency, along with the Kenyan police and Athletics Kenya, are investigating claims that doctors injected athletes with banned substances in exchange for a percentage of their winnings.
The accusations were made by German journalist Hajo Seppelt. He said that he had found evidence of doping among middle and long-distance runners at the high-altitude Rift Valley training base in the country.
Corruption
Those allegations are similar to claims made by Matthew Kisorio, the distance runner.
In June, Kisorio failed a drugs test at the Kenyan Championships and has gone on to claim doping is widespread within Kenyan athletics, with doctors corrupting athletes.
"An inquiry has commenced and WADA will continue to monitor its progress."
WADA spokesman Quotes of the week
WADA have confirmed they have been in contact with Athletics Kenya and are looking into the allegations.
A spokesman from WADA said: "WADA is aware of the doping allegations in Kenya and has been in communication with the relevant Kenyan authorities.
"An inquiry has commenced and WADA will continue to monitor its progress."
