David Weir collected his fourth gold of the London Paralympics with victory in the T54 marathon on The Mall.
Having been part of a six-man group who broke away from the field, the 'Weirwolf' timed his sprint finish to perfection to take the title in one hour 30.20 minutes.
The 33-year-old came into view of the finishing straight in the lead and pulled away from his rivals to complete a glorious end to a spectacular week.
Victory means Weir has completed a clean sweep in his events - he had already won the T54 800, 1500 and 5,000 metres titles in the Olympic Stadium.
Tough
"It was tough, the first five miles I was absolutely dying to tell the truth," the six-time London Marathon winner said.
"I didn't think I was going to manage to cope, with the heat and everything. I felt flat.
"I had to just dig deep and have another energy shot that I took with me just to get me going. That was meant for about 16 miles, not the first five miles, but I'm glad I took it on board. It just gave me a bit more energy.
"That was the toughest race I've ever raced in my life.
"They were all working together to try and stop me, but I'm used to that. I do my own thing and race as best as I can."
Weir finished a second ahead of silver medallist Marcel Hug with Australian Kurt Fearnley, the defending champion, completing the podium.
