GB's wheelchair rugby players qualified for the 5th place play-off game on Saturday night after beating Belgium at the Basketball Arena.
The British team's medal hopes disappeared through a Pool A defeat against Japan on Friday.
They were back on court on Saturday morning, and despite a hesitant start they recovered strongly to post a 54-49 success.
Consistent
Aaron Phipps scored 28 goals, while there were 12 for the impressively-consistent David Anthony.
Although Britain were edged out in the first and fourth quarters, dominant second and third quarter displays proved significant.
They will now place Sweden or France for fifth spot, while the race for medals continues later on Saturday when Australia tackle Japan in the first semi-final, followed by reigning Paralympic champions the United States meeting Canada.
