Novak Djokovic has arrived in Brazil for an exhibition match against Gustavo 'Guga' Kuerten, on his first visit to the South American country.

The World No 1 visited Rocinha, a favela close to the future Olympic Park in Rio, to officially open the first tennis court to be built in one of the city's shanty towns.

Djokovic spent 90 minutes signing autographs and playing tennis with locals after cutting the inaugural ribbon.

Fresh from winning the ATP World Tour Finals, the Serb will also take part in an exhibition football match at the Olympic Joao Havelange stadium on Sunday night.

His trip comes ahead of a visit by a London 2012 delegation to Rio de Janeiro this weekend.

Djokovic told Sky Sports he hopes to return to Rio to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games.
