Britain's George Nash and William Satch won a bronze medal in the men's pair rowing final with New Zealand, as expected, clinching the gold.
Nash and Satch produced a hugely spirited performance to push France all the way to the line, but in the end it was the French crew who claimed silver.
However, the Kiwi pairing of Hamish Bond and Eric Murray were simply in a league of their own as they won by nearly five seconds.
The New Zealanders have not been beaten since joining forces in the event after the Biejing Games four years ago and dominated their rivals from the off on the way to a comprehensive victory.
