Great Britain forward Alex Danson has successfully come through a fitness test and is available for the women's Olympic hockey tournament.
23-year-old Danson suffered an ankle ligament strain during a pre-Olympic practice game against New Zealand last month in Hong Kong.
Danson then embarked on a strict rehab to try and regain her fitness in time to be fit for the start of the Olympic tournament.
After working hard, Danson has now passed a Friday morning fitness test and is available to line-up for the British team.
"We are delighted for the team and for Alex personally," said coach Danny Kerry.
"Alex has shown tremendous strength of character over the last 10 days and she is thoroughly deserving of this positive outcome."
The British side face a tough opening game in Beijing as they go up against reigning champions Germany on Sunday in Pool B.
Also in Pool B are tournament favourites Argentina, who smashed six past Germany in their Champions Trophy win, along with Japan, New Zealand and the United States.
