British diving stars Tom Daley and Pete Waterfield both finished in the medals in the final of the men's 10m platform at the FINA Diving World Series in Beijing.
Daley, the 2009 world champion in this discipline, took silver after a strong set of dives.
The 17-year-old from Plymouth led after the first round but could not prevent China's Qui Bo overhauling him in the second round of dives, as the Olympic favourite claimed the gold medal in front of his adoring home fans.
Despite that, Daley was delighted with his efforts and his score of 541.15. He wrote on his official Twitter account: "Wooooop! So happy! Just won a silver in the beijing leg of the world series in the individual...scored 541...the gap is closing!!!"
Waterfield recovered from a slow start to secure the bronze medal with a total score of 531.80.
Daley and Waterfield had combined to take silver in Friday's 10m platform synchro.
