The Arizona Cardinals continued their rich vein of form with a 24-20 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles at the University of Phoenix Stadium.

In a match-up between two of the top three teams in the NFC, the Cardinals prevailed after quarterback Carson Palmer found John Brown for a 75-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter.

Arizona’s new record of 6-1 is currently the joint-best in the NFL, although the Dallas Cowboys have the chance to move ahead when they play the Washington Redskins on Monday night.

The Eagles (5-2) struck first when Nick Foles capped an 80-yard drive with a 21-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Jeremy Maclin.

The hosts hit back to level the scores when Andre Ellington rushed in for a touchdown from one-yard out and they took the lead on an 80-yard pass from Palmer to Larry Fitzgerald.

A Cody Parkey field goal and another Maclin touchdown put Philadelphia 17-14 up, a lead which was retained when Chandler Catanzaro and Parkey traded three-pointers.

But with 81 seconds left in the final quarter Brown caught the bomb from Palmer and took it into the end zone, with Philadelphia quarterback Nick Foles subsequently leading his team back down the field but being unable to score a touchdown.
