Bowl match-ups

We look at the best match bets which will decide the Supper Bowl with some great Sky Bet specials.

Who will get the better of the head-to-head match ups will win Super Bowl

NFL is all about match-ups, so for Super let's look at just how the main playmakers will get the better of things in Indianapolis with some great Sky Bet specials. New England are three-point favourites over New York, but it's a strange one as most experts predict the Giants will win! About the only thing people can agree on is that it will be a close one. In such a big game with two evenly matched teams, the finest of margins will decide who goes home with the Vince Lombardi trophy and who, well, just goes home. The Giants look to have the edge in terms of personnel and match-up potential, but Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are among the best coach-quarterback combinations around - and they are after revenge! The Giants ended their dreams of a perfect season back in 2008, and trust me they will be looking to settle the score in Indianapolis on Sunday, despite them both playing it down.

So with so little settling such a huge game, it will all come down to which of the skill players on each team perform better than the other - and with it being so tough to call these could be where the value bets lie. Let's start with the QBs, the main men and stars of the show, Eli Manning has been in his best form ever this season, especially late on, while Brady is going for a third Super Bowl ring - both men know how to win the big one. Again it's such a close one with Manning stepping up his passing yards this season, and he is 20/21 to throw for more yards than Brady - who is only slightly favoured at 20/23 despite his struggles against the Giants defence. So much talk is on the two passing games, but the running game is always crucial, if only just to free up the passing game and keep team's honest, although there's no doubt it is the secondary form of attack for both teams. The Pats actually ran the ball pretty well against Baltimore, but in Ahmad Bradshaw the Giants have the better running back, which is reflected in him being 8/13 to run for more yards than his counterpart Benjarvus Green-Ellis, with him 5/4 to come out on top.
Receivers
The Giants have a star-studded array of receiving talent, with Victor Cruz the fairy story coming from nowhere to be the star of the league in yardage terms, but he is still probably the number two threat behind Hakeem Nicks. Cruz is 10/13 favourite to get more receiving yards than Wes Welker, nobody would have thought that at the start of the season, such has been his emergence. Poor old Welker also comes off second best in comparison with Nicks, as the Giants man is 5/6 to out-perform the diminutive Welker (evens), but with big doubts over Rob Gronkowski all Patriots receivers could see as pike in their production, and Brady can through short quick passes to Welker in his sleep. Mario Manningham is often the third wheel in the New York offence, but he has three TDs in the play-offs and can pop up with a crucial score at any time, but in yardage terms can he (20/23) do better than Deion Branch (20/21). The odds say Manningham will do better, but Branch was the Super Bowl MVP the last time the Pats won the big game, so he knows he way around and, again, with all eyes on Gronkowski he could find some space to do some damage. And what of the MVP award? Well the most likely is Brady (23/20) and you always have to look at the QB, so if you fancy the Giants to win, chances are Manning will get the credit and you will get the returns from 6/4.
