PEC Zwolle started the new Eredivisie season with a win as they beat FC Utrecht 2-0 on Friday night.

In what was the opening fixture for the entire competition, goals inside the last quarter of an hour from Jesper Drost (75) and substitute Soufian Moro (90) did the trick.

It was Moro's debut for Ron Jans' side and the win put them top of the first table of the campaign ahead of the weekend's fixtures.

Champions Ajax host Vitesse on Sunday while PSV Eindhoven go to Willem II.
