Patience Alexander: Heading for the Lowther
Patience Alexander will reappear in the Pinsent Masons Lowther Stakes at York on August 21.
David Evans' speedy filly lost her unbeaten record at Royal Ascot in the Albany Stakes when she stepped up to six furlongs for the first time.
Previously she had beaten Richard Hannon's Tiggy Wiggy in a Listed race at York and she went on to frank the form when narrowly beaten in the Queen Mary and defy top weight in the Weatherbys Super Sprint.
Evans had hoped to drop her back to five furlongs for the Molecomb at Goodwood on Tuesday but was forced to amend his plans.
"The Lowther is the plan now," said Evans.
"I'd have liked her to have run in the Molecomb but through one reason or another we couldn't. She's mad in season for one.
"I still think she's better over five but there aren't really many options for her at that trip. She stays six anyway.
"She's in the Nunthorpe but I don't think it would be fair to ask her to run in that having not had a run for a while.
"Her win over Tiggy Wiggy at York looks exceptional now so we're looking forward to the Lowther."
