Hugo Palmer is considering an intermediate option at Ripon before he gives his useful-looking two-year-old Home Of The Brave a more severe test.
A son of the impressive Starspangledbanner, Home Of The Brave was a close second on his debut at Windsor and reappeared last week at his home track to win a Newmarket maiden by four lengths.
Speaking on his StanJames blog, Palmer said: "I think it's hard to say exactly what he beat but you can only beat what you're asked to beat and he's beaten them very well.
"He's in the Gimcrack and the Champagne and I'll be putting him in the Middle Park as well and we'll probably work backwards from there.
"He's come out of it looking more like a man so we'll just see. I would guess that he probably might not go to the Gimcrack.
"James Doyle felt afterwards that to stay at six furlongs this year would be best so that would probably rule out the Champagne as well.
"There's a conditions race at Ripon called the Hornblower, there's also the Champion Two-Year-Old Trophy there which he could go to, and that's in the middle of August.
"I would have thought he would run a maximum of twice more this year."
