Brighton head coach Oscar Garcia will encourage his players to remain calm and focused as they fight to achieve "something special" by reaching the Premier League.

Garcia's men can take a major step towards securing a spot in the showdown for a place in the Premier League by defeating bottom club Yeovil on Friday night.

Brighton are one point outside the play-off places with two games remaining and will move into the final play-off spot if they win the live Sky game, ahead of Reading's trip to Doncaster on Saturday.

Garcia, though, will be taking nothing for granted against the basement club, whose relegation has yet to be confirmed.

"We are playing and we are fighting for something special because this club has never been in the Premier League," he told FL72. "It would be a big achievement for us.

"We don't care how many teams there are; we need to be focused on the next game and try to beat Yeovil.

"There are no easy games. We have to fight in every game to win. With the teams at the bottom it is hard to play well against them. We always want to win and we are always positive with our substitutions."

Brighton's chances will depend heavily on top scorer Leonardo Ulloa and fellow forward Craig Mackail-Smith, who has returned after almost a year out with a series of injuries.

"When he [Ulloa] scores, normally we win the game so it is so important that he is fit and he can score for us," said Garcia.

And, on Mackail-Smith, the head coach added: "We wanted to have him back earlier but it was impossible. We thought he would be ok in November but it was impossible. Now we have him and hopefully we will have him for the last games."

Brighton's final game is away to Nottingham Forest, who still retain an outside chance of sneaking into the play-offs themselves.

Desire

Should Brighton reach the knockout for a Premier League place for the first time in their history, Garcia hopes their desire will make up for their lack of experience.

"Our desire will make the difference," he said. "I played a lot of big games and a lot of finals and what I learned from my best coaches was that you have to be calm because you have reached this stage because you have been calm and you know how to play.

"If you want to change a lot of things then may be it would be wrong. If we get into the play-offs it would be a very good season and if we got promoted it would be an amazing season."
