Derek Adams: No complaints from the Ross County manager
Derek Adams admitted the best team had won after Ross County were thrashed 4-0 by a rampant Partick Thistle at Firhill.
Stuart Bannigan netted just before the break while Gary Fraser, Stephen O'Donnell and an own-goal by Ben Frempah completed the rout.
The defeat followed Sunday's loss to St Johnstone which leaves County bottom of the Scottish Premiership table after two games.
And manager Adams said: "It was a bad night for us but that's taking nothing away from Partick Thistle. They played very well and deserved to win.
"Maybe we could have scored a couple of goals ourselves after hitting the bar and Scott Fox making a couple of good saves.
"But the best team won. Partick passed the ball well, they were fresh after not playing on Saturday and the goals they scored were well-worked goals.
"They looked accomplished and strong and they will be delighted they have won. But we are obviously disappointed that they have beaten us."
His opposite number at Partick, Alan Archibald, added: "It's a great start and I'm delighted to get a winning start.
"I was a bit worried Ross County might nick a goal so I was pleased we got the clean sheet as well.
"I think we had a few performances like that last year when we just didn't score the goals.
"The difference this time was that we put the ball in the box, we made the other team defend and we got the goals from that.”
