It's a familiar scenario at the Etihad Stadium this Super Sunday, as Manchester City look for the win that would edge their noses in front of Premier League leaders Manchester United on goal difference.

Ring any bells? That's right, City were in a similar situation in April earlier this year, with Roberto Mancini's men earning a narrow 1-0 win over United on that occasion before going on to land their first title since 1968.

Not quite so much at stake this time around, but that hasn't stopped punters piling on the pounds ahead of one of the most eagerly awaited games of the season, with visitors United (21/10) receiving most of the backing.

Sir Alex Ferguson's men look good value at that price, but City are the only unbeaten side left in the division and are therefore priced at 6/5 for the win, while the draw is available at 5/2 ahead of the game, which is to be shown live on Sky Sports 1 HD.

Vincent Kompany scored the winning goal in this fixture last time out, and the big Belgian to repeat that feat in another 1-0 win for City is a whopping 230/1 in our Scorecast market, or you can back the centre-half at 14/1 to simply score at any time throughout the 90 minutes.

United have been leaking goals right, left and centre this season, but with a goal difference of +16 it's difficult to foresee them failing to find the net. They came to the Etihad and won 3-2 in the FA Cup last season, with a repeat of that scoreline available at 25/1.

Robin van Persie is the obvious and most popular choice in the first goalscorer market (5/1), with the Dutchman having already provided many punters with a pay-out this term, but, with City being favourites, we rate Sergio Aguero the same price to break the deadlock.

With both teams to score odds-on at 8/15, avoid backing a 0-0 draw (14/1), while there's greater value to take advantage of in our Match Specials market, where you can find both teams to score in the opening period at 11/4.

United's knack for falling behind only to come back and win has been well documented this season, and you can back City to be leading at the break with United going on to win at 28/1, a long but very plausible shot.
