York manager Nigel Worthington will demand nothing less than three points from his players when they take on Wycombe on Saturday.

The Minstermen have had a frustrating start to the season, drawing all four of their League Two fixtures, after their storming finish to the previous campaign saw them cruise into the play-offs.

Worthington claims his players have performed well, but have been punished for not converting their dominance into goals.

"Form-wise our level has been very good," the former Norwich boss told Press Association Sport.

"In terms of creating chances, we've been very good, but there's two things we've got to do. We've got to keep clean sheets and win games of football.

"To do that we've got to take our chances. We're looking for the players to keep doing all the good things they're doing and then see the game through."

York conceded last-minute equalisers at Tranmere on the opening day and against Northampton in their first home league match, while they rescued a point themselves with late goals against Cambridge and at Exeter last week.

"It's a big positive that we're still unbeaten," Worthington added. "But we have only four points.

"If we had won two and lost two of our opening four matches instead of drawing them all we'd have six points and be better off.

"But that's the points system. In short, we need to start winning some games."
