Oldham have named summer signing Liam Kelly as club captain for the forthcoming season.

Latics signed Kelly for an undisclosed sum from Bristol City and he has worn the armband for the whole of pre-season. Manager Lee Johnson told the club's website: "We will need to give him time to get back to 100% ready but his attitude and desire speaks for itself. He will drive the team forward in his play and personality." The 24-year-old midfielder, who was a team-mate of Johnson's at Kilmarnock, takes over from Korey Smith as team captain ahead of their season opener in League One against Colchester.
