John Ruddy has signed scholarship forms with Bury after they fought off competition from Premier League clubs for his signature.
The highly-rated Scotsman, nicknamed Jack, joins in time for the start of the Football Youth Alliance season with an away trip to Morecambe on Saturday. On the youngster's signing youth team manager Ryan Kidd told the official club website: "With the manager we have at the club, Jack can see a progress route to the first team and it's obviously something that he is keen to do given the time and coaching. "We are delighted to have him with us. "Jack spent two weeks with us, so that we can have a look at him and he can look at us and both parties are clearly happy with the progress made."
