James Coppinger: Handed fresh terms at Doncaster
Long-serving midfielder James Coppinger has signed a new two-year contract with Doncaster.
The 33-year-old joined Rovers from Exeter in 2004 and has gone on to make over 400 appearances for the South Yorkshire club, twice helping them secure promotion to the Championship.
Manager Paul Dickov said: "Copps has signed and he's going to be here for the next two years which is great news.
"I never wanted to lose Copps and I don't think anyone at the club did and James always wanted to stay and we're delighted because he's a fantastic signing for lots of reasons.
"Firstly, what he gives us on the pitch - which is most important.
"Two - what he offers us on the training ground and three - what he gives the club as a whole.
"James leads by example in the changing room and on the training pitch. He's a character you want at the club."
Coppinger will now be due a testimonial as part of the new deal, which runs to the end of June 2016.
