'Best yet' for Robinson

Manager Karl Robinson felt MK Dons' victory over Nottingham Forest was probably the best performance of their pre-season campaign.

The Dons defeated the Championship club 1-0 on Sunday thanks to a well-taken goal from midfielder Ben Reeves, in long-serving defender Dean Lewington's testimonial match. "It was a good run-out. It was important we had this type of game, the level of quality increased and the intensity picked up a little bit," Robinson told the club's official website. "The players picked up as well, they performed probably better than they have done all pre-season. "It's a step in the right direction for us. There are things still to tinker with and change but as a whole, the fans and everybody inside the stadium can walk away feeling very pleased with the performance. It was a good afternoon for us. "It was nice to get a win back at stadium:mk as it's been a while! There were a lot of positives to take out of the game and hopefully we can build on this moving forward. "I'm not getting carried away, there is still a lot of work to do. We've got two more weeks to work on a few things and maybe bring in some more new players. Hopefully we can do that and move on from here." Breaking news, transfer gossip, line ups and goal alerts from your football club - delivered direct to your mobile. Sign up for Sky Sports Alerts
