Rochdale have completed the signing of former Crystal Palace and York striker Calvin Andrew.

The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal and arrives following a week-long trial at Spotland. Dale recently sold last season's top goalscorer Scott Hogan to Brentford and boss Keith Hill is pleased to have completed a deal for Andrew. "I watched him play against us last season and I was impressed with his physical attributes - he was left-footed with a good touch and had awareness of his team mates and the opposition," Hill told Dale's official website. "I'm really pleased that he has signed and I'm quietly excited about the prospects of working with him. "The way we play football will suit him, there's no question about that. "I was convinced when I first saw him. He has a great character and I believe that we can get the best out of him." Andrew started out at Luton and had a four-year spell at Crystal Palace before stints at Port Vale, Mansfield and latterly York, who he helped reach the play-offs last season.
