Awford: No let up from Pompey

Andy Awford pledged "there will be no let-up" from Portsmouth after they all but secured survival with a 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers.

Goals from Adam Webster and Danny Hollands had been wiped out by a double from Pirates striker Matt Harrold before the break. But Wes Fogden converted Ryan Taylor's knock-down in the 70th minute to send a raucous Fratton Park wild and put Pompey just two points away from securing their League Two status. They face a crunch clash with second-from-bottom Northampton on Monday and Awford says his men are determined to build on a fourth straight victory, which leaves them 14th with 54 points. He said: "The challenge for us is how high up the league we can finish. There will be no let-up whatsoever for these players. "We had a training session at the end of the game ready for Monday and we'll go again. We'll demand of the players again and I'm sure they'll give us everything back like they have. They were absolutely magnificent. "When you're winning, you're not tired. The momentum we have at the moment is absolutely superb. We won't be going to Northampton tired - no chance. We'll recover on Sunday and we'll be ready to go again Monday. "We've still got to get what we need to get over the line and get a positive result, and we will."
