Phil Parkinson: Happy to take share of the spoils

Bradford manager Phil Parkinson was content with a point following the goalless draw at Rotherham.

The promotion-chasing Millers dominated proceedings but were unable to make their pressure count with Haris Vuckic and Kari Arnason wasting the best chances.

Rotherham boss Steve Evans also thought his side should have had two penalties, for a foul on Alex Revell and handball against Gary Jones.

But Parkinson was delighted that the Bantams dug in to end a run of six straight defeats against their West Yorkshire rivals.

"That takes us to the 50-point marker," he said. "We have come here before and put in non-appearances, so it was important for us that we put in a professional performance and we did that.

"Rotherham are a good side, but the lads were superb in the way they stuck to their game plan from the first minute to the last, and we created some good chances on the break in the second half.

"We knew that as the game wore on and Rotherham threw caution to the wind they would leave gaps, but on the day it is a very good point for us.

"Our back four was strong, our midfield was very disciplined and Jon Stead up front did a difficult job and led the line very well and as the game went on he got better and better.

"It was a good all-round performance and I am please for our supporters because they can go back to Bradford with a bit of pride because they have gone back from here before very low, like I have been."
