Spain's Carmen Jorda will return to GP3 in 2013 after agreeing a deal with series debutants Bamboo Engineering.

Jorda finished 28th in the standings last season with Ocean Racing Technology but the team ran into financial problems and had to withdraw from the series.

Ironically, the 24-year-old's reprieve comes after Roberto La Rocca was forced to leave his seat with Bamboo due to "uncertainty about his sponsors amid the changing situation in Venezuela."

"I'm really pleased to have concluded the deal with Bamboo Engineering, I had a positive winter of testing and am looking forward to a good year," Jorda said.

"Seeing the team go fastest at the end of the Estoril GP3 Series test really helped my decision making."

Despite missing valuable pre-season testing, Chief Executive of Bamboo Engineering Richard Coleman is sure the former Indy Lights racer will be a good fit at the team.

"Carmen has had a busy winter testing and her focus and determination will stand her in good stead this year," he said.

"She has a positive attitude and a willingness to learn that will make her an ideal fit with Bamboo Engineering."
