Dutch star Eefje Muskens has become the latest big name European talent to join the National Badminton League after signing for Surrey Smashers.
The doubles specialist is currently ranked 12th in the world in the women's pairs event and will provide valuable experience to the Smashers team having competed in another team league, the German Bundesliga.
Muskens also claimed the bronze medal at the European Championships in February and such credentials have understandably excited her new head coach, Hayley Connor.
“It is fantastic news that Eefje will be joining us for the first ever NBL season," she said. “Eefje is a phenomenal doubles player and she’ll no doubt bring a wealth of international experience to an already impressive looking squad.”
Indeed, the 25-year-old is no stranger to victory on British soil. Muskens won the Scottish and Irish Opens in 2014 before picking up International Challenger wins in Italy and Sweden and has also won the prestigious Bitburger Open Grand Prix Gold tournament.
Surrey Smashers start their NBL campaign against MK Badminton on match-night one, the fixture will be the first ever to be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
