South Africa all-rounder Robin Peterson has been called up for the Australian leg of their limited overs tour Down Under.

The all-rounder replaces injured left-arm spinner Aaron Phangiso who suffered a sprained finger in a domestic match prior to the team's departure for New Zealand.

Phangiso will be sidelined for approximately four to six weeks, thus missing the trip to Australia where the Proteas will play three T20s and five one-day internationals starting on November 5.

In Peterson, South Africa are swapping like for like with another left-arm spinner but also gaining a powerful hitter in the lower order.

Peterson, who is currently enjoying a fine spell of form with Cape Cobras in the domestic 50-over competition, spent much of the English summer playing limited-overs cricket for Surrey.
