The scout reports...

One of the biggest deals in Germany this summer will be the move of Marco Reus, but there will be no scramble as he has already agreed to sign for Borussia Dortmund. Reus has agreed a five-year deal with Dortmund and will leave Borussia Monchengladbach for £15million. But this is a return to Dortmund for Reus, having been with them as a youngster. The Dortmund-born forward joined his local side Post SV Dortmund as early as the age of six and he then moved on to Borussia when he was 14. In 2006, he was shown the door by Dortmund and joined lower league club Rot Weiss Ahlen. He progressed well with Rot Weiss and he was handed his first-team debut in 2008, before soon emerging as a regular starter. In 2009, his progress was spotted by Borussia Monchengladbach and they snapped him up on a four-year deal. At this time Reus was also handed his first call-up to Germany's Under-21 squad. He hit the ground running with Borussia Monchengladbach and eight goals followed, with the following year even better with 11 goals. Reus has also hit double figures this season, but he is not a mere forward - he is much more than that. Blessed with electric pace, Reus likes to operate from either flank cutting in. With outstanding skill too, he is a wonderful talent and it is little surprise that Germany's finest were trying to sign him. Dortmund and Bayern Munich were both battling for Reus' signature and the latter were favourites, before the player confirmed a deal with his former club. Reus will now concentrate on sealing his place in Germany's Euro 2012 squad, having made his full debut late last year.

The scout says...

A truly brilliant young player who could come to world attention if, as expected, he seals a place at Euro 2012. Dortmund are an ideal platform for him to continue his career, but already the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid are believed to be closely monitoring him.
