Highlights of Sunrisers Hyderabad v Kolkata Knight Riders from the IPL.
Kolkata Knight Riders boosted their hopes of a place in the knockout stages of the Indian Premier League with a seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Yusuf Pathan made an unbeaten 39 and Ryan ten Doeschate saw his side home with 25 not out as Kolkata, who now occupy fourth place in the table outright, managed to overhaul their opponents' total of 142-8 with two balls to spare.
Robin Uthappa made 40 at the top of the order for the Knight Riders, putting on 51 with Manish Pandey for the second wicket after the early loss of skipper Gautam Gambhir.
Pandey eventually fell for 34 to Karn Sharma (1-19) to leave the score at 104-3 in the 16th over, bringing Ten Doeschate to the crease with work still to do.
Together with Pathan - who hit two sixes and the same number of fours in his 28-ball knock - the Netherlands international kept his team on target to successfully complete their chase before seeing them home in style.
Needing 10 off the last, the Essex all-rounder hit Bhuvneshwar Kumar's second ball for six and after two followed from the next, finished the job with a boundary down the ground.
Hyderabad looked on course to set the Knight Riders a stiffer challenge until they managed just 34 runs from the final six overs, 12 of which came off Piyush Chawla in the 17th.
Umesh Yadav dismissed the dangerous Aaron Finch with the ninth ball of the match, then also saw off another Australian, David Warner (34), on his way to figures of 3-26 from four overs.
Spinner Shakib Al Hasan picked up a couple of wickets himself as the Sunrisers lost their way having at one stage been well placed to launch a late onslaught at 98-3.
Irfan Pathan finished up unbeaten on 23 but their final total never looked like being enough, even with Dale Steyn - who claimed 1-24 - in their line-up.
