Scott Redding took over at the top of the Moto2 standings after scoring his first victory in the class at Le Mans on Sunday.

The Briton hit the front on lap 8 and never relinquished his lead with rain curtailing the 26-lap race three laps before the end, with previous championship leader Esteve Rabat finishing out of the points.

The Kalex rider was followed home by team-mates Mika Kallio and Xavier Simeon, the former moving up to joint third in the standings.

In Moto3, the Spanish dominance continued with Maverick Vinales leading home two of his compatriots to extend his lead in the championship race.

The Team Calvo rider judged the race perfectly to finish in a time of 42 minutes, 5.448 seconds, setting a new lap record for the class at Le Mans.

Alex Rins finished 1.264 seconds back but Luis Salom's third place was enough to keep him in second in the overall standings.
