Tom Sykes: Pole position for World Superbike round at Aragon

British star and reigning champion Tom Sykes claimed pole position for the races of the second round of the World Superbikes championship in Aragon.

Sykes set the pace with a best lap of 1 minute 56.479 seconds to finish ahead of Kawasaki Racing team-mate Loris Baz and early championship leader Sylvain Guintoli of Aprilia.

Davide Giugliano, Jonathan Rea and Chaz Davies made up the second row.

Guintoli holds a 10-point lead over fellow Frenchman Baz at the top of the standings after a victory and a third place in the first round races at Phillip Island.
