Reigning champion Sebastien Ogier coasted to his fourth victory in the Rally of Portugal on Sunday to cement his position at the top of the World Championship standings.

The Frenchman finished 43 seconds clear of Finland's Miko Hirvonen after posting the fastest time in eight of the 16 stages.

It was also the Volkswagen Polo driver's third win from four rallies this season.

His victory in the Algarve was his 19th career success, while his nearest rival in the title race, Jari-Mata Latvala, could only finish 14th - almost 16 minutes adrift of Ogier.

A delighted Ogier said: "I'm really at home on these roads."

The next leg of the championship is in Argentina starting on May 8 - the fifth of 13 events this season.
