Anthony West's results for the last 18 months have been expunged because of a doping offence.

The Australian rider tested positive in May 2012 for banned stimulant methylhexaneamine and was initially banned for one month.

But the World Anti-Doping Agency appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, requesting a two-year suspension and being granted an 18-month ban instead.

While the suspension period has already expired, all of West's results during that time have been erased from the record books.

West, who has raced in the Moto2 World Championship for the past four years, said the stimulant came from an energy drink and insisted he was unaware it contained the banned substance.
