Dani Sordo will be back behind the wheel for Citroen in the world rally championship next season after two years with the Prodrive-run Mini team.
The 29-year-old spent five years with Citroen from 2005 and has driven 80 of his 98 rallies in one of the French cars.
The Spaniard will replace nine-time world champion Sebastien Loeb, who has decided not to race in all next season's rallies.
Finland's Mikko Hirvonen will become Citroen's main driver when the 2013 championship begins in Monte Carlo on 15 January.
"We took our time in assessing the potential of the drivers available to line up alongside Mikko Hirvonen next season. Obviously, Dani was very high on our shortlist," said Citroen team principal Yves Matton.
"Dani is very well liked in the team and it's a pleasure for everyone to see him return to the 'family'."
