The Showstopper and The Cenation Leader were in attendance at Hell in a Cell.

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels refereed the WWE Championship match between the man he trained, Daniel Bryan, and the man he has had plenty of issues with over the years, Randy Orton.

John Cena, meanwhile, was attempting to prise the World Heavyweight Championship from Alberto Del Rio, having recovered earlier than expected from the tricep tear that has sidelined him since SummerSlam.

You can see how Michaels fared when he donned the stripes and whether Cena's first bout back ended with him claiming gold by watching repeats of WWE Hell in a Cell all week on Sky Sports Box Office.

Michaels - a four-time world champion - was charged with controlling things inside the dreaded Hell in a Cell structure following the chaotic culmination to Bryan and Orton's previous WWE Title tussle at Battleground.

On that occasion, Big Show strode to the ring and flattened both competitors with a knockout punch, rendering the match a no contest and leaving the most prestigious belt in sports entertainment in a state of abeyance.

However, would Michaels be able to keep his respect for Bryan and loathing of Orton in check and ensure that a rightful WWE Champion was crowned in Miami? You'll have to tune in to find out...

Injury

Elsewhere, Cena - whose last duel in WWE ended with him being beaten by Bryan and losing the WWE Championship - tried to win the World Heavyweight Title for a third time.

The West Newbury native has conquered Del Rio before to claim a belt - forcing the Essence of Excellence to submit at the Night of Champions event in 2011 - but can he do it again so soon after overcoming a debilitating injury?

The dust-up between Cena and Del Rio - who has vanquished Dolph Ziggler, Christian and Rob Van Dam over recent months when his title has been on the line - did not take place inside Hell in a Cell, but CM Punk's encounter did.

The Second City Saint combated arch-enemy Paul Heyman and Ryback in a two-on-one handicap bout, just weeks after he clobbered the Human Wrecking Ball with a low-blow at Battleground.

Plus, AJ Lee defended the Divas Championship against Brie Bella, and WWE Tag Team Titlists Cody Rhodes and Goldust put their belts on the line against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns and The Usos.
